Tony Stark in the comics is actually adopted so in theory if they go off the comics Howard’s biological son is Arno Stark and the Reason Tony in another universe is Doctor Doom because he wasn’t adopted by the Stark’s and instead the Doom’s or his Biological Parents are the Dooms

Steve is definitely one of the reasons. Also, we have to take into account them going back in time period is a problem. The Ancient One told Hulk it will be a problem. In Age of Ultron, I think Tony’s vision of the Avengers being dead was on a different timeline from the current one.
