My analysis of this book made my Freshman lit teacher drag me down the hall and park me, physically, in the AP class. She said "I'm wasting your time. Sit. They just started Antigone." and she walked out. And yeah, I was in the class from then on... 😅

Reading this book in middle school not realizing I’d get SAed by my first bf a year later. I watched the movie in high school when I discovered there was a movie. This story impacted me sm that I wrote my college essay on it for a literature course and it was the highest grade I got on an essay for that class.

I saw this movie in high school and it helped me to tell my mom what happened when I was little. I was so afraid to say it out loud but the movie helped me realize I had to or it would haunt me forever

I pulled a Speak multiple times (I was too much of a yapper to actually go through with it) without ever reading the book. Once my brother read it, I think he understood me deeper than he ever had.

Read the book when I was younger and didn’t entirely understand what was going on besides that it made me uncomfortable. I now kinda realize that this is what happened to me and I kinda wanna watch the movie.

I remember reading this on my own in sixth grade and watching the movie after (rented from the library!!) and it was soooo sad. that was like 2011. So good to see people still talking about it

I didn't realize that Speak was turned into a movie! My high school had the graphic novel in the library and it legitimately helped me so much when I needed it. read it again a year or so ago again and it was insane how different it was reading from someone who was currently in the same position to someone who has mostly healed from the experience
