We have to do this. It’s called consortium. But it’s voluntary whatever we agree upon is basically up to the adopted parent don’t have to do it. And it’s not law binding. ❤️sending hugs.

I cannot imagine any world in which bio parents get a court ordered visitation schedule after an adoption 💔 cannot believe that they were more willing to end up in a completely closed adoption. Sad for the kids.

This is not practiced in Michigan. We’ve never had a mediation case. TPR happens, and case immediately switches to adoption.

Bio parents refused to participate in mediation for my son. In my state it's only about post adoption contact. Trial still proceeds regardless. I left the door open, but haven't heard from them in years.

Wow we didn't have anything like that with our 2. The rights were terminated and the visits are at our discretion.

you did everything you could for the best interest of the children and like you said you wanted to accommodate the bio parents, but that seems to be falling back on them.... that's heavy though and im sorry. youre a great momma!
