Most low resources countries created CO posts to address the shortage of medical officers.So it also important to realise that as the pool of doctors is increasing it stops making sense to continue producing COs.Its just that governments take long to change policies and that ends up affecting innocent people.

wee gathee. It needs to be erased eti medical science starts and ends with Mbchb but then patient care starts with hx, p.e & DX which Mbchb can't achieve with the accuracy of a DCM.

No wonder we do career guideline reviews. We will constantly make policies but as we do, kindly identify yourselves as Clinical Officers. I don't know why you want to seperate and fight this battle. Ata most of us who have already specialised are so proud to be reffered as Clinical Officers not Doctors. Let people respect your skills not titles.
