there is no reason it can’t be on a 12 hour delay just in case… having it live is purely selling the audience a possibility of witnessing a live death, which is gross

The only reason I felt comfortable with the free solo movie is I knew 1) he didn’t die and 2) they wouldn’t have ever shown the footage if he did. Live streaming a potentially deadly activity is so irresponsible, it’s like a snuff movie or that mass shooter who live-streamed on Facebook it’s disgusting

I’m going to be real too, I think it’s hugely irresponsible when you have kids and you don’t pull back on the more unsafe aspects of your sport. Like sorry, your kids are not going to think “oh dad was doing what he loved”. No, they’re going to be resentful of not having a dad if something happened

I worked for Clif Bar around the time we stopped sponsoring Alex because of his free soloing. At the time there was a backlash from the climbing community about him getting dropped but our owner, who was a climber himself, didn’t think brands should be paying to glorify free soloing because of the risk.

in the free solo documentary they did tests on his brain and found he genuinely lacks fear/adrenaline reactors in his brain that’s the rest of us have and I feel like ?? They are taking advantage of this

After accidentally watching that live stream of that climber falling off the side of a mountain after repelling down to get his bag that was stuck, I don’t think we need to be willingly live streaming anything like this knowing it could end so so horribly
