OP paid outside people to do these chores. Now he pays his wife to do the chores because she insisted he get rid of those people. The work still needs done. Just because he's married now doesn't mean he wants to suddenly do the work someone else did. If she accepted the money, she needs to do the work, not taking the money and then telling OP to do the work.

I am a firm believer in 50/50 I a marriage when it comes to responsibilities. But if we made enough to pay people to do the chores, as long as our family’s needs are met, I am fine with someone else helping us to get there. NTA!
