Been there, but it was my mom's ex bf setting the rules. I set it to 75 once because the house was freezing. He would keep going in and out of the house to smoke and it let the heat out. It was always "You don't pay the bills." However, this particular night it was "You don't pay the bills, I am so sick of you kids. I can't wait until you both are able to leave and be gone." Then later he got caught cheating on my mom. And we moved to a house that was warmer.
