Yeah you need a headphone amp, like one that plugs into the wall. They're really high impedance (10x what normal headphones would be) so you need a much higher voltage than your phone battery can produce in order to make any noticeable sound.

those are good headphones but they are cumbersome to use daily with your phone, for sure I have similar headphones for at home with adequate equipment to drive them, but I daily drive either Samsung earbuds or Koss Bluetooth headphones
