Krunchee :
I can remember watching the Tommy Cooper one and a lot of the reason people thought it was a joke, was because moments before a young woman assistant had come on stage and he clutched his chest

Most founders waste conferences. They show up, collect lanyards, eat sad sandwiches, and leave with 200 LinkedIn connections they'll never talk to again. Here are 5 tips to actually get ROI from your next one: 1/ Pick 3 people you want to meet. Not 30. Three. DM them a week before.
"I'll be at [conference]. 15 min coffee on day 2?" Specific beats vague every time. Most people say yes because nobody else is asking. 2/ Skip most of the keynotes. Watch them on YouTube next week. The real value is in hallways, dinners, and the line for coffee. That's where deals happen, intros get made, and you learn what's actually working right now. 3/ Have one sentence ready. What you do, who it's for, why it matters. If someone asks "what are you working on?" and you ramble for 90 seconds, you've lost them. Tight pitch. Then ask about their world. 4/ Follow up within 48 hours or it didn't happen. Reference something specific from your convo. Send the article you mentioned. Make the intro you promised. This is where 95% of founders drop the ball and where you can stand out. 5/ Ask more questions than talking about yourself. When you find yourself networking, the best way to get people to reciprocate is by asking them questions. Be the curious mind and continue asking as many questions about what they do. The law of reciprocity kicks in. It makes them like you more, and they will ask you questions! Have any questions about going to conferences? I'd love to help you! #durhamnc #bullhouse #startup #startuptips #conferences
