It’s part natural, part engineered by corporations or social norms. People abandon themselves in channeling an obsession of for what they desire in others. We’re all guilty of it at one point or another because it is technically a biological function. It’s just the state people get in when they’re forced to live in a world with limited resources for everyone. But contextualised alongside consumerism, and cultural ideals, there’s new elements that manufacture conceptual resources, so we desire superficial resources and that’s hard for us to adapt to.
