The problem is that most families involved with social services are not wealthy people with thousands sitting ready for private legal fees. A lot are on benefits or ordinary wages and can barely survive as it is. So when videos are made saying "we help families" and then discover there's no legal aid accepted and consultations are hundreds of pounds an hour, it feels completely out of reach for the very people who actually need the help most? That's why so many families feel the system is unequal. Social services have taxpayer-funded legal teams, experts, and unlimited backing, while ordinary parents are left trying to fight a system they can't financially compete with. Nobody is saying lawyers shouldn't be paid for their work. But there's a real difference between giving hope to struggling families online and then only being accessible to people who can afford thousands privately.
