Leftover Halloween Candy Cookie Bars 🎃🍫 I may have went a little overboard on the candy 🤭😅 (recipe makes an 8x8 pan) Ingredients: ¾ cup (170g) unsalted butter (brown it) ¾ cup (150g) brown sugar, packed ½ cup (100g) granulated sugar 2 eggs + 1 egg yolk, room temp 2 tsp vanilla extract 1½ cups (190g) all-purpose flour 1 tsp cornstarch ½ tsp baking powder ½ tsp salt ¾ cup chopped chocolate halloween candy (frozen) ¼ cup chocolate chips + more halloween candy for topping! (you don’t have to put as much as I did lol) Instructions: In a saucepan, brown the butter over medium heat. Stir constantly until it foams then turns a golden brown color. It should have a nutty aroma with little brown bits. Transfer to a heat safe bowl (make sure to get all those little brown bits in there!) Cool for about 10 minutes. Preheat oven to 325°F and line/grease an 8x8 pan. Mix the slightly cooled brown butter and both sugars together. Beat in the eggs, egg yolk, and vanilla until smooth. Whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt, then gently fold into the wet ingredients until just combined. Fold in the frozen candy and chocolate chips. Do not over mix. Spread the batter evenly into the pan. Bake 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean/with a few moist crumbs. Let it cool a bit. While still warm but not too hot, top with the halloween candy. Enjoy! #bakingrecipe #cookiebars #halloween #halloweenbaking #blondies
