In today’s video, I’m showing you how to take accurate shoulder measurements using a measuring tape perfect for beginners, apprentices, and fashion lovers who want to get their fittings right. This method is especially helpful for anyone who is learning fashion designing or tailoring from scratch, including those in the Deaf and hard-of-hearing community.💡 Shoulder measurement is one of the most important parts of garment construction — whether you're making a shirt, dress, or blouse. To take it correctly, place the tape on the tip of one shoulder (where a normal sleeve starts), stretch it across to the other shoulder tip, making sure the tape is straight and flat. This gives you the accurate shoulder width needed to draft patterns that fit perfectly and comfortably.
