So tired of people and doctors saying that. My mom lives with me and I take her to her appointments. I always speak up for her. She says she’s fine but she isn’t. I told her to start telling them how she really feels.

Unfortunately, the system is so broken that even when you get it checked, nobody really does anything about other then pass you from doctor to doctor.

It would be great to see more doctors like you. The only Dr. we had that was a great doc and a great man. my kids were so comfortable with him and the only one they didn't mind going to the appointment alone if I couldn't be there. they were 16 & 17. he was so wonderful during the time my husband was going through his lung cancer and ALS. the cancer isn't what he passed away from,it was the ALS. But me and my kids miss him. He ended up having Parkinson's and had a stroke.

I'm in my 40s and I have a friend where I can't mention pain or any other symptom because she tells me ur getting old. it's not normal I said that's why I'm being seen by multiple specialists

Must be cultural, you are so properly restrained. Then there are people like me who would have reminded them there is such a thing as “elderly abuse” and a stranger can report it for evaluation. But then, I was a nurse for fifty years and a vehement patient advocate. How is that ignoring her pain not abuse?

That's probably how my aunt passed away so quickly I saw a year before she passed apparently she had an aggressive cancer of some sort. She kept saying she was in pain etc thinking it was "normal" for her age... I also wanted to say something but we were in family and hadn't seen her in so long 💔 she found out too late 😔
