@bethmikeska: This is such a great way to get involved if you aren’t in a financial position to do an angel tree or if you just want to help even more! 1) if you want to volunteer, look up the salvation army in your area and they should have info on their website about how to volunteer! they will need help cleaning up the warehouse in early January! 2) toy/clothing donations directly to the salvation army are also so important for those kids who’s tag didn’t get picked to make sure they still get toys! if you can’t do a whole angel tree, you could donate one or two toys to the salvation army! there is also an amazon and walmart wishlist on salvation army’s website! 3) the biggest need i saw was clothes and toys for boys ages 9 and up. if you’d like to donate next year, consider something older boys would like! 4) i also keep seeing comments wondering if the toys you buy for an angel tree kid actually go to them and i can guarantee they do! we didn’t take anything out of bags, only added to it if there wasn’t enough! 5) please only take a kids tag if you can afford to get them the things they ask for! seeing kids with only one or two things or just random things that weren’t on their list made me so sad! what you buy for them is most likely all they’re getting for Christmas so spoil them!!
