Proximity + signaling. A lot of white-collar dudes (which I’m a part of) won’t approach unless the interest is obvious—risk/reputation calculus. Military culture (which I was a part of) tends to be more direct, so you see more approaches. 👀

I’m a physician. It’s all about proximity, social class, background, and education. Every high earning Black professional that I know (includes doctors, lawyers, architects, engineers, finance people) met their spouse either through grad school, mutual friends, church, or professional organizations.

most wealthy men date or marry women who are in their proximity. it’s why most doctors are married by the time they have graduated med school. they met their wives in college or in med school. this is the case of most wealthy women as well. majority of the time they are married to men of similar statue. social media has people who have unrealistic goals for the people they want when they aren’t even what those people are looking for.

Let’s understand how to get into those circles. People clown college, but that is direct access to meeting future professionals at the undergrad and grad levels. From classmates, to alum, to networking nights, fundraisers and homecoming. Next would be the professional associations. But guess what, you have to be an industry professional to even qualify for membership. Well educated ppl also want to be around other well educated ppl.

This is the same reason relationships between WM and BW is the fastest growing demographic (by percentage). More and more BW are highly educated professionals. They are proximate with similarly educated WM.

Best place for a black single person with "grand" expectations in life is to move to a major city(Houston,DC,ATL,Charlotte,Manhattan). A SIGNIFICANTLY high amount of black professionals and entrepreneurs in those cities, scammers as well(Houston/ATL). As a man, DC, Charlotte, and Houston in that order(for me) because I prefer the white collar women over the business owners.
