@mellow_moods_podcast: I went to Melbourne for my friend’s birthday. We’ve been friends since 2004…or is it 05?…which honestly feels wild to say out loud. At this point she’s basically my sister. The plan was to surprise her, and yes, I fully committed and dressed up as a pink Christmas elf. I was nervous, laughing at myself, and hoping she wouldn’t somehow see me before I got to the door. When she opened it… instant chaos. Tears straight away. Then laughing. Then more crying. The good kind. The kind where you can’t even talk properly. We spent the whole trip doing special things jus for her with her friends and family….it felt really special. Those friendships that have seen every version of you just hit different. There were a lot of laughs, a lot of emotional moments, and honestly a few “how are we adults now?” conversations. By the end of it, my heart felt full but also split because part of it is always in Perth, and part of it will always be in Melbourne with her family. Best birthday ever. Worth every flight.
