This is from the Bakhtiari people ( sincerely yours) and we serve this at memorial service or funeral. My mom always added Zafaran to it as well

I am from South Louisiana and you began with flour and oil. We call this a Roux. We typically use it in savory dishes like Gumbo, stews, and crawfish étouffée but we never use roux for dessert or a sweet treat. very interesting concept. I would love to attempt this. Thanks for sharing a part of your culture.
