If you stretch and fit it properly, run your stair tool along the pins, then power stretch to the opposite wall you won't have that problem, trim and tuck last.

Tilt the trimmer. Either way. You could rub it on the pins first then trim and tuck it. You have no trim on that wall. Easy peasy.
