The problem is they don’t give those gratuities to the workers. They use them for their base pay and then they pay the rest. They don’t get it on top of their base pay. The cruise lines use it as their wages! It’s just another way to get us to pay the wages of their workers.

Princess Plus ends up being so much cheaper. $65 a day includes drinks, daily grat charge, unlimited streaming wifi.

Think of it this way, if you purchased the drink package it would be $100 a day per person plus 20% gratuity. You’re paying the gratuity. If you went to a bar and the owner said drinks are on me, you’d still tip the bartender for your drinks, right? Same concept.

Question: is there a limit to the drinks? Can I order more than one at a time? If I order a drink is there a time I have to wait to order another? Also I have children who love mocktails but it seems there is only a soda package for kids. Can I use my drink package to get them a drink? Thanks!! 😊

Not to mention your paying per person daily gratuities some,& of those are supposed to go towards your dinners. So if you’re paying $20 per person gratuity for a specialty dinner, they should actually be getting more than $20. Seems kinda high, especially if the meal is only $50 per person.

Then what is the additional service fee on top of the free at sea??? You pay both. The service fee is the gratuities. The other is food snd drinks.

There has never been a drink limit on NCL. The standard Free at Sea drink package is $28.49 a day. FAS Plus comes out to $78.49 total and gets you premium liquors, premium wines and champagne, Starbucks, energy drinks, unlimited premium Wi-Fi, free daily gratuities, half off additional specialty dining, and more. It is a fantastic deal and I am so happy they brought it back. Just Carnival Cheers! which is drinks only with a 15 drink limit is $82.54. Royal is normally about the same price but very annoying it is variable $65 to $115 so you have to shop for deals.
