@christophernolen1: Douglas squirrel knew me well enough to take a few nuts but was curious about the fingers. This often happens with the babies. Almost always once is enough to know what the fingers are all about. Notice the smelling of the fingers almost every time. The smelling becomes random after the squirrel gets to know you but sometimes even regular do it. Very curious creatures with an excellent sense of smell. The was a resident #Douglas squirrel vocalizing, complaining about her hanging out in his territory. She probably wouldn’t let me get close to her if it wasn’t for seeing other squirrels coming up to me for food. Now she probably thinks she knows me well enough and won’t ever need to bite again. #squirrel #bite #hand #behavior
