2 big things that you got wrong. I work for the big T and we do not do 36 months (they are actually testing it, rn the Galaxy watch 8 promo is the only device on 36 months) but every single phone up to date we only do 24 months financing. The second thing is that we do not have any kind of contracts, you are completely free to cancel at any point with no fees or repercussions. The only thing you have to pay is whatever the remaining balance on your device is (for example if you cancel in 1 year, the phone will only be halfway paid off so you would need to pay the other half but never the full price). He also got another one wrong (so basically almost everything he said is inaccurate) there are plans that let you upgrade every 1 or 2 years and you do not need to be a new customer for that, the only difference is that you need to trade in your current phone (but you still need that for most Apple promos) and you get the same promotions as new customers. What you said is more aligned with Verizon and ATT but not with t-mobile 👍

Partly right and partly wrong. Installment only is 24 months some do get the 36 months based on tenure. While the new phone is free is you activate a new line, it does not have to be a new customer you just have to be on an eligible plan and possibly trade in your old phone to get the promotion and also T-Mobile DOES NOT HAVE A CANCELATION FEE and if you cancel the account ONLY THE REMAINING BALANCE OF THE DEVICE IS DUE. See, even if it is a free phone you are still charged just being offset by promotion credits covering the monthly charges of the device. Since the line will be cancelled what will be due is the UNPAID months.

Hey, you will be losing on a promotion. If you pay full cost of the device there will be no promotion attached to it.

T-Mobile doesn’t charge cancellation fees. You also don’t have to pay the full cost of the phone, just whatever is left at that time pre-promotion. Example, phone is $1000 over 24 months. After 12 months if you want to cancel early, you owe $500
