They are gladiators bred for combat. These genetics pop up throughout bull breeds, hence what just happened with the pile of bullies dogs, Raffie and Odin. But peopl still anthropomorphize these animals and completely disregard their genetics and epigenetics. This is why they are always in headlines because “pibble parents” deny their inherent propensity for these behaviors and drives. It’s maddening as someone that has handled and respected a lot of these high drive dogs.

The old books are so hard to find. The way they go into details about why they put wrinkles on them so they would stop being blinded by blood to even why they stopping fighting them legally because people couldn’t be taxed for it. Fighting the monkey with knives was weirdly a fascinating story.

If you can open mindly learn about the History, You can learn alot. we show our Game Bred dogs (like a trot in a circle show) and used some of the conditioning we learned from history books and podcasts etc.

I started learning about all this when I was 15 and spent time on online forums when that was a thing: Game-dog and ROM forums. I sometimes forget that normal dog people don't know anything about Cajun rules and what scratching means lol

Same. And In the last 20 years, I think Epigenetics has become more impactful in a dog’s life, attitude and health than the genetic tendencies of the breed they started with.
