I'm 36. yes, I made some bad choices in life but it's ridiculous that I have to choose between being a complete burden on my parents or living w/ an awful man or living in my car. and it's starting to become illegal to sleep in the car so wtf.

when I was in high school(graduated 2016), my social studies teacher told me that when minimum wage was established so that one person could afford to own a home and comfortably support a family.

I am making over 3X my states minimum wage and can’t find a studio less than half my monthly income in the worst area of town… it’s absolutely absurd.

What breaks my heart is that so many people struggle simply bc they don’t have family (or the family they do have is so toxic they’d rather be homeless). The system is so broken and I’m scared for my children’s furture bc I only have enough to support them now, not enough to support their future.. and even if I did, what on earth can we expect the future to look like right now

We live in such a dystopian era. Everyone I know has a college degree but is barely making ends meet. And even if you can afford to move out, you're still one paycheck away from homelessness because inflation is through the roof and something as simple as buying groceries can be so expensive.
