this one’s been sitting heavy on my heart… Gwendolyn deserved so much more💔 • • Gwendolyn Smith was a 17-year-old recent graduate from Bedford High School in Michigan who tragically lost her life on June 14th. Just weeks after graduation, she should have been preparing for college and enjoying her summer. Instead, Gwendolyn was found unalive inside her home after a former volunteer bowling coach named Ryne Leist entered her house and committed an act of violence before ending his own life. Investigators reported no signs of forced entry, leading to ongoing questions about how Leist got inside. Although he worked with students through a local bowling alley, he was never officially employed by the school and had already quit that role. Gwendolyn’s stepdad had discovered concerning messages from Leist, suggesting an inappropriate fixation. Another young woman, Kylie Thornton, later shared that Leist had also shown obsessive behavior toward her, including tattooing her name on his body. Kylie clarified they had never dated and she never reciprocated his interest. She described repeated unwanted contact and efforts by Leist to meet her and her friends. Gwendolyn’s family, devastated by this loss, shared heartfelt words after her passing: “We’re not supposed to outlive our children.” This tragedy highlights the importance of being aware of predatory behavior and taking every precaution to protect young people. Gwendolyn Smith was only 17. She deserved a long, joyful life. Please remember her name and honor her memory. Be safe and look out for each other. #TrueCrime #TrueCrimeCommunity #CrimeTok #TrueCrimeStories #GwendolynSmith #ForYouPage #FYP #ViralTrueCrime #CrimeAwareness #Storytime #TikTokTrueCrime #angiesfiles #ProtectOurKids
