I want to talk about something alot do not. my name is melissa williams. i was born 3 years before 9/11 and no i was not there or knew anyone who was effected by it. however from that day forward my birthday changed forever. not only does the day of 9/11 carry this weight on it almost like the whole country takes a day to have that moment of silence. but it also caused my birthday to lose its celebration. after some years wondering why no one came to my birthday parties, the one birthday party i did have happened on the day of 9/11. it sat with me ever since. now i spend my birthday honoring those who passed on that day rather then celebrating my day of birth. i visit monuments of 9/11 and pay my respects and usually celebrate my birthday the day before or after. no one talks about how hard it is to celebrate your birthday on a day we lost thousands of people. it isnt easy but i am glad i can remember and honor those lost on my birthday reguardless of having a personal connection. R.I.P. to all those we lost that day. we will never forget.

At the end of 2001 when one of these new shows did the memorial for 2001, the very last image they showed were a collage of the twin towers. I cried harder at that than I did all the celebrities.😭

I went to the top of the south tower in 2000. On 9/11 I was at work and couldn't believe when I heard on the radio they collapsed (I didn't see a TV until hours later). It was so shocking.
