with Rhaegar saying that "his is the song of ice and fire" and HoTD confirming the Targs knew about the prophecy due to the conquerors dream, I can't help but feel the Targs somehow never lost the prophecy with the Dance.

And maybe the comet strengthens the magic of dragons and that's why it was easier for the dragons to be brought back through magic. It could also strengthen the power of dragonfire, something similar to what Sozin's comet does to firebenders in Avatar The Last Airbender.

One of my favorite things about the books is how so many different characters talk about their own interpretations of the comet. It’s like the one motif that ties all these different stories together in the first couple of books. From Cat to Dany to Theon to Arya to Jon. So damn intriguing

I think somehow this is how the sword of the morning comes into play. The comet means dragons. The sword is called dawn and is made from a comet supposedly. And morning/dawn comes to end the long night. I wonder if the Dayne house words have something to do with that.

didn’t daenerys use the comet as a sense of direction? it ended up taking her to qarth, but one thing that’s interesting is how if she were to hypothetically still follow the direction of the comet she would have ended up in asshai, which is where quaithe (who has a star-like mask, and is a possible member of the starry cult) wants her to go. do you think there could also be a correlation there?

on this point I belive that may there is not just one prince that was promise. If there were a red comet during prince aegon birth (and if it is a truly sign of the born of azorh hai), maybe he is still alive. This could accredit "young griff theory" and exeplain Rhaegal's words in dany's vision:" It must be someone". But the dragon has alway three heads.
