done this! a deferred payment saved my credit score as well. they put the owed payment on the back end of the loan and it will accumulate interest, but it's a temporary relief and I paid it off with no ding to my credit score.

Yep. Call them folks before it spirals out of control. Ask them if they can put a payment or two at the end of the loan. Late payments and repossessions destroy your credit. TBH the bank doesn’t want the car back, they want the money. CALL THEM.
