I think what’s interesting is that in the end of F&A it does confirm that even though it was cut, Tsu’tey does still join the afterlife once he dies so it’s almost like uploading his conscious in the cloud upon the first bond and even if that bond is gone, part of him would always be with Eywa

given the fact that a human soul could be added to the spirit world (grace) i don’t think losing a kuru would necessarily prevent someone from living on in the afterlife, so long as their body had some form of access to the mycelium network of eywa
