I’m so sorry. My husband has young onset Alzheimer’s and now Lewy Body Dementia as well. The “you look fine” stigma is so frustrating when your world is changing. I think (my opinion who has cared for my husband full time for 7 years), it wouldn’t hurt to put the wheels in motion for care. It’s not what you want to hear but for safety’s sake. You might not recognize that something is happening but it is. Thinking of you ❤

If you remember getting lost and having hallucinations, you already know what’s happening. You just want confirmation from complete strangers? Trust your “almost a doctor” friend and get yourself diagnosed. The sooner you get diagnosed, the sooner you can start treatment to delay the progression.

Your neurologist may be able to prescribe meds to help reduce the instances of hallucinations. I'm sorry about entering into this next stage.

Rebecca I agree with your friend. Unfortunately this probably isn't what you want to hear but you shouldn't be living alone. Especially with hearing someone had the door. Yes you should be worried. ❤

There is another Canadian lady I am following and she is still waiting for an official diagnosis for young onset dementia (58) but she also got lost shopping yesterday and is hearing things such as her dog at the door....scary shit for both of you 💔

No. Should not worry. You are being taken care of. I prefer denial. Lets be in denial and live. Just take appropriate precautions ❤

Have you thought about getting AirTags and maybe a gps watch and allowing family and or friends access to always know where you are? We used this for my dad and it was a lifesaver on multiple occasions!

if you get hallucinations, take a video and listen/watch it with headphones to check for yourself

I’ve not seen you before, I couldn’t pass by without commenting. You have a great friend there, she clearly cares for you a lot. Let her support you with decision making on care if you can. I have a dear friend who left getting help and support too late. My view in general is the earlier you put plans and support in place the better ❤❤ Sending supportive thoughts from London

Hi Beautiful, I am worried about you if you go out and get lost. Please take someone with you if you have to go out. Please keep your door locked as well. Please don’t answer if you don’t know who is there. I’m sending love and prayers.🥰🥰🥰💜💜💜

hey friend. Nurse practitioners are the absolute best with kind observations and bedside manner. if a NP or an ANP delivered this news to me I would accept that is a reasonable observation delivered in a kind way

u can always use your phone to record what it is you're hearing / seeing then play it back. might help determine if it's real or not but def make sure to bring up with your neuro

my mom, whom I lost to alz 2 years ago got many hallucinations and was prescribed an anti psyc for it. it helped only marginally. out of concern for you and your safety its time to think about care.

I'm so sorry. I echo your friend's advice to talk to your neurologist plainly about ALL of your symptoms. It's hard for them to help you if you're not giving them the full picture. I wonder if you're driving? It sounds like something that should be off the table now if it's not already.

Living with someone would reduce that anxiety at least because you know there is someone there watching when your mind is no longer entirely reliable.
