My engagement ring is an amethyst. At my last job one of my regular customers asked me if that was all he could afford. Like wtf? It is a $1600 ring. That he personally picked out. He went through all the amethyst’s the jeweler had and found the most perfect one. And it’s something extra special. His dad is a geologist and started by giving his wife a ruby when he proposed. His sister has a sapphire, his other sister has an emerald. I have an amethyst. It’s beyond special to me. And that is what is important.

my ring is moissionite and I've had people tell me they couldn't even tell the difference between that and diamond. I'll take bigger and cheaper over smaller and more expensive any day
