@indigenoussouthernsoils: Sandy loam soil naturally drains well but often struggles to hold nutrients and water.. By adding compost and organic matter, I’ve improved its structure, increasing its ability to retain moisture while still allowing air to reach plant roots.. Beneficial microbes and fungi now thrive, breaking down organic material into nutrients plants can easily absorb.. Three to four years ago my sandy loam soil was heavily compacted hard and difficult for roots to penetrate.. Over time, wit the addition of compost and organic matter, the soil has loosened and become rich and crumbly.. I’ve transformed a simple sandy loam into a fertile, balanced ecosystem that sustains life above and below the surface.. #SoilHealth #soiltransformation #soillife #indigenoussouthernsoils #fyp
