Scruffing cats SCARES them. It does not calm them. It scares them. It paralyzes them. I’m not a mom cat. It’s not appropriate. Look at any of the modern day research. None of it supports scuffing. I’m a big girl. I can handle my 5 pound kitten. I scruffed Phoebe once very gently when she was being too aggressive with another one of my cats. I’ll never forget the look on her face. i’m not saying to scruff while holding her mid air. just saying to at least support her back while she is in the air. i don’t scruff my cat either unless she is getting a bath and her feet are touching the floor of the tub and i BARELY hold it.

Deleted my comment on your other video because I didn’t see size of your cat! Definitely would never recommend scruffing a kitten this size. I was picturing a bottle baby, who physically relax when scruffed until they’re about 3-4 weeks old. Didn’t think anyone would be telling you to scruff a cat this size 🤦‍♀️

My mom had a long haired cat, and she used to trim the fur around that area, so that it wouldn’t have poopy mess in its fur. 💖

It doesn’t matter what position you put the cat they will always hate water, I have ptsd, last time I bathed my cat he scratched me all over my arms 😭😭😭 it was traumatic
