I teach at a private school, and my own children attended that school. I pulled them both out the school were I taught to send them to a public school, and their education in public school has been amazing! Public schools are not trash.

Public schools can be great. It’s what you make of them. And PARENTS involvement is so important! My twins are getting an amazing education in their public hs and are not missing out on anything at all. There are some amazing programs and sports programs too that they are taking advantage of. They are even taking free college classs. This is the opinion of a former catholic school kid and current special Ed nyc teacher.

I teach in public school. My kids are in public school. Both girls far exceed grade level standards… BY YEARS. They test into the top percentile in the state. You get out what you put in. If you invest your time and attention into your kids and their education, they will be successful. Period.

I taught public school for 25 years and have been at a private school for 6. Both are very different but similar at the same time. Kids are kids and parents are parents. I met some fantastic teachers, family’s and students at both places. But public schools are not trash at all.
