@pottytrainingconsultant: Bodies are weird. Learning to use them is even weirder. Your child is navigating brand new sensations, autonomy, and control all while their brain is still developing. These behaviors aren't red flags. They're normal parts of the learning process! The exceptions? If your child is withholding poop for multiple days, showing signs of pain or serious distress, or if accidents aren't decreasing after several weeks, then it's worth troubleshooting your approach or getting support. (Which I’m happy to help you with!) For more reassuring potty training guidance, check out my Potty Training Survival Guide.
