I got a brand new 2024 Chevy Silverado the RST package fully loaded with the 6.2. I traded in my 2020 Chevy Silverado. They gave me 25 grand for that and that went towards the principal of the new truck. payments are 800 a month with a 3.9% interest on a 5 year loan. I double my payments every month so it's paid off faster. I've done this for the last 15 years because I get a new truck every 3 years.

rolling negative equity because to get an affordable monthly payment you have to get a 7 year loan on cars that have 3 year warranties and start having major issues 5 years after buying them.

interest rate isn't the problem. its the initial cost. sooner or later theyll have to readjust the overall prices for their products as its not matching up with today cost of living. big reset coming.

High payments dont bother me if the term is low. It builds equiry quicker. People don't realize that a new ford explorer is about $50k and thats a $800 payment for 72 months. People are upside down for the first 3-4 years...

I have 2 vehicles with over 200k miles that are paid off due to this very reason. Seems to make more sense to repair than pay that much monthly.
