Maybe us 30s-40s single people in NY should organize a singles event then. It's becoming a thing on TikTok but it's usually for 25-35. I need to go somewhere where people know what AOL chatrooms were 😂

I just turned 40, live in NYC, was basically single for 5 years and then met my now husband on bumble when I was 37. My friend who also met her husband on bumble gave me her system lol. 1. Join on a Sunday bc most people will be active after not meeting people on a weekend 2. Buy a week a premium 3. Swipe like it’s a job for 2 days not to message people but bc you will be shown to more people if you are active 4. If you can free “boost” your profile, do it Tuesday at 7. 5. Go through the “likes” section that premium unlocked and choose from there 6. Aim for guys who have possibilities of being handsome but do not know how to choose a picture of themself. It’s a risk, but no one is messaging them. Anyway, I’m shocked this worked but it did for 2 of us gals so I thought I’d pass it on.

it's.. a confusing time and age. I'm on that boat but actually just coming into the city - I whiled away 4 years living in Colorado and feeling like I had "given it my all" to no avail and no hope. and it's a devastating loss to feel like you've given away your last year, your last few months of hope for like... nothing. I don't have solutions or like easy encouragement but from a random internet stranger I'll sit alongside you in the gutter if that's how it all feels. It's something I wish the happy friends in my life would have been able to do.
