@dragonheartbookworm: How do you view a 3 star review as a reader? What about as an author? I know not every author may think this way but it's honestly been my gut reaction as an author when a 3 star review comes through on any of my books and yet, as a reader, between 3 and 4 stars is my most common rating of a book! I'm working to change that reaction in myself because I'm aware that 3 stars isn't a bad rating and all ratings and reviews are more for the other readers to help them know if they'd like to read the book!

This is why a 10 point scale is superior. If I see 7/10 I’ll read it. If I see 3.5/5 I won’t, and I’m totally aware of how idiotic that is😆

5 star - amazing, top tier read, amazing vibes 4 star - loved it 3 star - book is just meh. I won't continue a series if it's 3 stars And then if it's a 1-2 star read, it means I DNFd it and won't review the book. Mind you, I don't review anything unless it's a positive review (4-5 stars). If I didn't like it that much, then I wasn't the target audience and that's fine with me.

3 star for me is a good read but not good enough to recommend 🤷🏻‍♀️I've also been told I rate books harshly.
