@sacramentourbanmedia916: #BarryManilow has disclosed that he was recently diagnosed with lung cancer and will postpone several January performances so he can undergo surgery. The 82-year-old singer-songwriter shared the news Monday on Instagram, explaining that doctors discovered a small cancerous area on one of his lungs after he battled a prolonged case of bronchitis while performing during his Palm Springs residency. An MRI was ordered as a precaution once he returned to the stage, and that scan revealed the issue. Manilow said the cancer was caught early and doctors do not believe it has spread. He is undergoing additional tests but expects surgery alone will be sufficient, without the need for chemotherapy or radiation. “I’m incredibly lucky — and grateful for a great doctor — that this was found when it was,” he wrote, adding with humor that his recovery plan includes “chicken soup and I Love Lucy reruns.” The Grammy-winning artist recently wrapped up a series of Christmas concerts at the McCallum Theatre in Palm Springs. His January shows will be rescheduled as he recovers from the procedure.#viral #fyp
