I love that Trevor just sits back and let's his guests get their full statements out without interrupting & when he does is because he says "how" or "tell me more"

It also wouldn't cost the city anywhere near $22,500 per child per year. They would get a "bulk" price with the economies of scale, not the inflated retail price which doesn't get paid to the daycare workers anyway

I live in a suburb near Pittsburgh. My colleague recently told me she pays $2000 per month for one child. She can't afford to have another. It's unimaginable. I have 4 kids (including one step). My husband and I only did it by having opposite schedules. We have been limited in our careers by this necessity.

Amen bro he understands and we’re all saying this because of the times we’re living in we would go back. We wouldn’t be complaining about the pay and things like that but shit is just so outrageously expensive and it’s been like that over the last five years plus.

Yep and that's just a microcosm, a slit-in-the-wall view, of how the whole country treats kids, families and wage workers.

Not only the cost financially. It’s the cost of losing what people can do in our world because of it. Working in early childhood made me realize I couldn’t give myself to others with kids. And I couldn’t afford it.

we have lost the plot at it takes a village. And it really does take a village to raise children. I wish that the concept of living together with other family members wouldn't be so villainized...

This is why we need young adults in politics. They know what real life is like. They've had to get housing in the last decade. They've had to get a job in the last decade. They pay their own bills and buy their own food.
