@taksportsmed: SULCUS SIGN How: Patient is seated with arm hanging to the side. The examiner grips the patients arm. Then applies an inferior traction force to the humerus while the scapula is stabilized. Positive (+) = an indentation (sulcus) appears beneath the acromion process. Implications: the humeral head slides inferiorly on the glenoid fossa, indicating laxity in the superior glenohumeral ligament. The grade of the laxity is based on the widening of the subacromial spaces. Grade 1: 1 cm or less Grade 2: 1-2 cm Grade 3: greater than 2 cm #sportsmedicine #athletictraining #behindthetapejob
