What counts is how you present yourself on the actual job. “Competence is built in practice, not on paper.” 2️⃣ Learning doesn’t stop after the licensure exam. That’s just the beginning. Real growth happens on the floor, in real moments, with real people — where your decision-making is tested. “Passing the exam makes you licensed. Learning every day makes you a nurse.” 3️⃣ You will lose touch with some college friends. Life keeps moving. It becomes harder to stay in touch — and that’s okay. “People can matter deeply without being permanent.” 4️⃣ Money alone won’t make you stay. The people you work with will. Culture beats paychecks every time. You stay for those who make the work bearable. “A good team can make hard work feel lighter.” 5️⃣ Experience doesn’t mean entitlement. Don’t flaunt your years. Every new place resets you to zero. Stay humble. Stay teachable. You’ll still make mistakes — and that’s part of growth. “Experience earns respect, humility keeps it.” 6️⃣ A smile is part of the uniform. Kindness costs nothing — and it’s often remembered more than skills. Be approachable. Build relationships at work. “People may forget what you did, but not how you made them feel.” 7️⃣ Protect your sleep, food, and movement. The quality of these three decides how you feel — at work and in life. “You can’t pour from an empty body.” 8️⃣ Asking for help is strength, not weakness. No one thrives alone. The strongest people speak up. There is strength in numbers. “Support is not failure — it’s strategy.” ✨ These lessons came from my years in nursing — but they apply to everyone.
