Most days I don’t even ask myself that question. Because if I do, everything cracks open. So I just keep going. With the holidays coming up, the future I once believed in feels so far away it almost doesn’t feel real anymore. My eyes burn. Tears are right there. I fight them. Not today. I really DON’T want to cry today. Because how do you explain that I hate the Christmas lights? That seeing people sit around a table together makes my chest hurt? Because I will never have everyone there at the same table again. Finn will always be missing. Not because she chose to leave. But because life made the choice for us. And that hurts so bad. Not just missing her but missing the life I thought we were going to have. I miss a future that doesn’t exist anymore. Knowing she won’t be there next Christmas, or the one after that, or ever again. it makes me feel like I’m going crazy.
