@mrferroni: This is what 15 students in a class versus 45 students looks like. Simple visual to show our class size matters.

I have 30 AP students in one class and everyone thinks that because they are AP students they are well behaved but not when they have known each other since elementary and are super social and won't stop talking while I'm trying to teach.

Smallest class this year is 28. Largest is 36. We had tax rate adjustment go to voters this year where no matter how they voted taxes would go down, but one would not go down as much so we could hire more teachers to address ballooning class sizes. If it didn’t pass the district had already earned we would probably see on level classes be at 40 students with honors / AP being ~35. It passed…but only by less than 200 votes. Yet parents wonder why my colleagues are burning out left and right.

23 elementary kids is a lot. I don't know why people think 1 adult should be able to manage this many

Class size matters! If the lawmakers really wanted to help us they would truly cap our class sizes and hire more teachers.

I teach MS. Over 25 becomes progressively more difficult. I spend more and more time just dealing with behaviors.

I like 20 to 25 (granted, attendance is also 89% so even with 25 I never use a full house).

The smallest class I've had in the past 5 years was 28. I teach 5th. Currently for me to have a simple 2 minute conversation with each of my 30 students, it would take 1 hour of my day. I don't have an extra hour in my day. 😞
