@jennifer.lauren.rose: Replying to @L If your productivity comes in waves, intense focus followed by burnout, this is not a motivation or discipline issue. It’s a nervous system and executive function pattern. Many people with ADHD, AuDHD, burnout, depression, or high sensitivity struggle with productivity inconsistency because traditional systems are built for linear energy, not rhythmic capacity. Research shows that stabilizing productivity comes from: • working in time-boxed windows • reducing cognitive overload • designing for recovery, not collapse • using minimum viable tasks to support task initiation This is about regulating capacity, not forcing output. When you design your work around how your nervous system actually functions, the productivity pendulum softens and focus becomes more sustainable. #adhd #adhdtiktok #adhdinwomen #adhdtips #adhdprobs

The problem is 9 to 5. I can’t honour my rhythm in a job that requires me to bill 8 hours a day.

I started using YouTube videos as a body double. When I go to meal prep, I’ll put on a video of someone else meal prepping. When cleaning, put in a video of someone deep cleaning etc. Game changer.

Motivation vs initiation is the exact issue I have on a daily basis. I can give someone else the exact steps to be successful at something but I cannot for the life of me apply it to myself! I feel like I’ve missed out on soooo many opportunities in life because of this 😭

I am convinced we nedd 3 days off together. I only get 2 like everyone else, but randomly I take an extra day off and that extra day makes so much difference. 3rd day I get so much done. I rest and play the first 2 days, 3rd day is all about getting stuff done. 2 days off a week is not enough.

“You have to learn to befriend the nervous system that you have and not the one you think you should have.” Ooooff. That’s a hard one to accept. 😩

Our brains live in duality. That duality is rhythmic, but it’s unique to everyone. So we have to work on mindfulness long enough to discover it. Nothing is wrong with it, it’s just unique because it’s filtering far more input than neurotypical brains.

Hmm this is interesting . Maybe that’s why stimulants don’t always work for me as I wonder sometimes if I’m o the spectrum for autism also with my adhd . But never got it tested as I can’t afford it and afraid they will laugher me . This is helpful thank you ! 🙏🏼

I know we don't all love AI and I have a lot of issues with it too, but it has been an amazing tool for me. I work with it to break stuff down into manageable tasks that drive dopamine for me. I've been able to get over initiation problems so well with it.
