you are going to end up with cracks over the window and doors. you never want your joints in those locations because to the stress the structure puts on those spots. those spots have a good bit of movement and will crack the drywall joints if they are in those spots. it might take a year ot two bit you will develop cracks there. in the future when installing drywall you always want to put a full sheet that spans across those locations. installing the drywall sideways helps span that area better eliminating those joints in that location.

Should shove some of that old insulation in the interior wall, will help cut out some noise

I’ve found running drywall horizontally is easier. Also Ive learned over the years is to try and not have a joint at the corners of doors or windows. They will forever crack, no matter how good you are.

Wouldn’t you want to insulate the interior walls as well? For noise?

always hang drywall horizontally. when you come across a window or door just put it across blocking it and cut out for the opening.

My FIL always uses red lipstick. Rub it on the edges of the outlet box and line the sheet as it should. Press a bit where the box is and you have your measurement.

Great job, only pointer would be around windows and doors you don’t want to have joints around the corners, next time plan the layout of your sheets so that they either fully encompass your window or door, or land in the center of the opening. That way they won’t crack. Especially around the doors, the seams covered by the mud and tape will crack from the vibration of shutting the door.

A tip I learned is you don’t want drywall seems directly on the studs left and right of windows and doors because they’re prone to cracking. Had it happen on a good night after priming all my walls.

Put the old r11 insulation in you attic in areas you might need some more. Plus it’s a way to get rid of it

You should have put that r11 in that interior wall, if it didn’t get to torn up from removing it from the exterior wall.

You don’t put drywall seams up from the corners of windows or doors they’ll crack way easier, you overlap the top/bottoms

if you put 2 pieces of drywall together at a corner like that (on door or window) it is more likely to crack fyi

I would have reused that old stuff in the interior wall you build for more insulation not necessary but better than tossing it in my opinion

My dad did drywall for 30+years. he cuts out the electrical boxes once it's on the wall. He just tacks the sheet up, cuts, then screws it the rest of the way in.
