@divergent.dietitian: POV: It's the holidays and your brain is screaming "I need to compensate for this meal" but your body is like... "Actually, I've got this." 🫶 Here's what I need my neurodivergent and chronically ill friends to know: Your body is incredibly adaptable. Holiday meals often look different—different timing, different foods, different portions. And guess what? Your body doesn't need you to "make up for it" with restriction, extra exercise, or skipping meals the next day. 🧠 What's really happening: Your body has complex systems designed to handle variety. One meal (or even a few days of different eating) doesn't undo your health or require punishment. For my chronic illness warriors: If your body needs modifications—smaller portions, specific textures, eating at odd times—that's not failure. That's you honoring your body's real needs, and that's actually the most compassionate thing you can do. Permission slip for this season: You don't need rigid "rules" to feel safe around food. You need trust, flexibility, and the reminder that nourishment comes in many forms—including joy, connection, and foods that feel good to YOU. What's one food rule you're letting go of this holiday season? Drop a 🎁 if you're giving yourself permission to just... eat and enjoy. #NeuroInclusiveNutrition #HolidayEating #ChronicIllnessSupport #AntiDietDietitian #FoodFreedom #ADHDNutrition #SpoonieLife #GentleNutrition #EatingDisorderRecovery #IntuitiveEating
