I agree with the posters that said Robert wasn’t going anywhere. They had him surrounded. They did not have to send the canine in. What they should’ve did was break the window and throw gas or a flash bang in the car. Then wait Robert out. The cop and the canine didn’t have to die. It’s easy for us to second-guess what they did but nevertheless, I believe it could’ve been handled differently.

I am just wondering why didn’t they think it over if there were other much better ways to capture the criminal here. Why didn’t they throw smoke bombs inside the car first? It was indeed a dumb idea to let the k9 in.

The outcome would be pretty obvious. Each officer has the same thought, neutralized the threat. I don’t see the need for so many officers exposed themselves. I don’t think dogs are meant to be used like that. Putting the dog in with an armed gunman takes away the dogs advantages like speed, maneuverability and fear in individuals. Keeping the individual off balance. But that just my opinion. 🤷🏻
