How I build 3D websites 👇 Academy in bio 🔗 I would build this one around a procedural landscape that slowly transforms as the visitor moves through the page. Instead of using a traditional hero section, the first screen would open on a large 3D terrain stretching into the distance with typography floating directly above it. I would generate the terrain inside Three.js using a displaced plane and a custom GLSL shader. The surface height would be controlled by layered noise, which would let me create hills, valleys, and subtle movement without loading a massive 3D model. As the visitor scrolls, I would connect Lenis and GSAP ScrollTrigger to the camera position. The camera would begin low to the ground, then gradually rise above the landscape while the terrain changes underneath it. Certain sections would flatten out to create space for content, then rebuild themselves as the visitor continues scrolling. I would also use particles to give the scene more depth. Small points would float just above the surface and respond to camera movement. As the user moves between sections, those particles could briefly gather into shapes or lines before dispersing back into the environment. Cursor movement would slightly influence the camera rotation and lighting direction. I would keep the movement subtle so the scene feels alive without making the interface difficult to control. For the typography, I would use regular HTML layered over the WebGL canvas and animate it with GSAP. Some text would remain fixed while the terrain moves behind it, while other sections would slide horizontally as the camera continues forward. I would handle transitions by changing the shader values instead of cutting between separate scenes. The terrain color, displacement strength, fog density, and lighting could all shift gradually so every section feels like a different environment while still existing inside the same 3D world. For performance, I would reduce geometry subdivisions on smaller devices, limit particle density, cap the renderer pixel ratio, and disable heavier shader effects when necessary. The goal would be to make scrolling feel less like moving down a webpage and more like traveling through a changing digital environment. Save this for your next build and follow for more interactive web breakdowns. #fable #webdevelopment #webdesign #3dwebsite #claude
