@athenasdriedflower: #GREEKMYTHOLOGY Apollo and Artemis, the twin children of Zeus and Leto, shared a connection that began even before Apollo was born. When Hera cursed Leto so that she could not give birth on any land, Artemis was born first on the island of Delos. Though only a newborn, Artemis quickly matured and stayed beside her mother. In some versions of the myth, Artemis helped Leto through the painful labor of Apollo’s birth, creating an unbreakable bond between the twins from their first moments of existence. As they grew, their personalities developed differently, yet their loyalty to each other never faded. Artemis became a quiet, fierce protector of nature, valuing independence and purity. Apollo, on the other hand, was social and expressive, mastering music, prophecy, and poetry. Despite these differences, they deeply respected one another’s strengths and often acted together when family honor was at stake. One of the strongest examples of their connection is seen in their defense of Leto. When the giant Tityos attempted to assault their mother, both twins reacted instantly and without hesitation, killing him together. This act showed not only their power, but also their shared instinct to protect their family above all else. Their unity is also clear in the tragic story of Queen Niobe. When Niobe mocked Leto for having only two children while she had many, Apollo and Artemis responded as one. Apollo struck down Niobe’s sons with his arrows, while Artemis killed her daughters. Though cruel by mortal standards, the act revealed the twins’ perfect coordination and their shared sense of justice and loyalty to their mother. Even in daily divine life, Apollo and Artemis were often seen as complementary forces. Apollo’s light brought clarity and reason, while Artemis ruled the quiet mystery of the night. The sun rose with Apollo, and the moon followed with Artemis, symbolizing how they ruled different realms yet remained eternally connected. Through birth, vengeance, protection, and balance, Apollo and Artemis stood side by side. Their story is not only about powerful gods, but about siblings whose bond shaped their actions and defined their place in the world. #greekmythology #greekmythologytiktok #fyp #artemisandapollo
